XL Overhaul

xenithar Posted by xenithar at 10:45 AM on December 17, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Because of the new writing project, Lithia, that I'm working on, I changed the banner of Xenithar's Lair.  I then changed the whole look of the website to correspond to the project, lots of reds and blues hehe.  I also fixed up the welcome page so it has a few more images, and I changed some BGs as well and updated the about page ever so slightly (my family is growing faster and faster lol)

I still have yet to add the info page about Lithia (I feel kinda bad because I said I would add it soon clear back in one of my other blog posts, so I apologize for that XP), but hopefully, with the semester over, I'll have more time to work on it.

I also hope to get Founders Part 1 on Lulu by the end of this month - there has been a manuscript problem besides the Sentients of Libera section I decided to exclude.  It puts statement of error right by the chapter headings where I used to have a table of contents index.  I need to go into Openoffice and see if I can fix it (grr so close!).

Anywho, happy holidays once again!

free download

Well, since I decided not to add the section to the Founders index (due to formatting problems), I am making the Sentients of Libera section available for free download for your viewing pleasure.

This section includes several fun facts about the various sentient races of Libera, as well as pictures of each race, a male and a female in each.

You can find the download on the Founders information page.  If you are having any problems with the download, let me know.

Happy holidays!

hurrr....

Indeed, I'm still alive, and this site is still alive.

The end of the semester has been a bit hectic, and I've been cramming some homework this past month.  Hopefully with the end of the semester this site and perhaps the Chronicles of Libera site will have a bit more activity.  Thanksgiving was very good, and it was fun to be with my brothers and sisters.  I have squeezed in some book work between homework and church, and the editing of Founders Part 1 is nearing completion and will probably be up on Lulu this December.

I also plan on getting a page up for the next installment of the Chronicles of Libera, Lithia.  I drew and inked a collage of characters from Lithia that I am currently coloring on the computer, and it will take some time before I get it up on Xenithar's Lair and the Lithia page.  But it will probably also take a while to decide what to put on the Lithia page anyways, so yeah....

I hope everyone had a gnarly Thanksgiving and ate lots of dinosaur meat.  Looking forward to the holidays!

I have completed the front cover for Founders Part 2: Den'verden!  I have provided a picture of it here:

I actually started this one a while back, but I finally sat down and finished it today.  For both of the Founders books I will probably do a one-piece cover.

Time for food.

Fanfiction

Thought I would post a link to my Fanfiction.net account if anyone is interested in reading some side stuff I have written.

Not sure how I find the time to do it, but besides Lithia and Founders, I am working on a story called Into Dark.  If you're a Narnia fan, I encourage you to read it.  Like Birth of Light it's a story that's not my primary concern, but it's something I'm doing for fun and to keep my writing skills sharpened.

I have started writing Lithia and will hopefully get an info page up for it here soon on both Xenithar's Lair and The Chronicles of Libera home site.

Well, I'm off to buy supplies for jewelry making!

The next step

Founders

I am happy to announce that draft of Founders was completed yesterday, August 24!  Part 2 ended up being shorter than Part 1, but that was expected.

The manuscript and index still has a ways to go before being published - it still needs editing and I need to complete the index and put that together for the book, as well as draw up a few more maps.  Because of school coming up and the time involved with it, I cannot as of now give an exact date when Part 1: Libera will be published on Lulu.  Hopefully it can be done by the end of this year or sometime next year before Spring.

Lithia

Soon I shall update X'sM with news about the next Chronicles of Libera installment Lithia, a story that takes place after The Legend of Draconite.  It's a project I look forward to working on, and I plan on starting on it while I edit and complete Founders.

The Legend of Draconite

I started creating new cover art for The Legend of Draconite.  As of now I have the front cover art for Sunstone and Gift Search.  They have a similar abstract feel to the Founders covers.  For the back covers I will probably use the usual old photo effect, but instead use the Theme pictures I used for the front covers of the old art, without the lettering.

Sunstone - Gift Search

I hope to get the remaining covers done this Fall - the first two burned me out a little hehe.

New Side Project

xenithar Posted by xenithar at 06:51 PM on June 26, 2009 Comments comments (0)

For a very long time I have had two stories sitting in my desktop: Linnaie's Mask and Cry of the Lupogryph, both of which were never published in a hard book form.  Instead of letting them sit and rot, I decided that I would work on them as a side project and combine them under one volume, hopefully to be published on Lulu.

Legend of Draconite on Amazon!

xenithar Posted by xenithar at 06:30 PM on May 27, 2009 Comments comments (2)

I got an email from Lulu saying that my book (books, in this case) has been listed on Amazon!  I looked myself up on Amazon, and sure enough, there they are!  They're a little more pricey than they are on the Lulu website because Amazon charges to have the products listed.  The storefront prices on Lulu should be the same.

This is a good reminder for me to get working on some new covers for LoD to gain some more interest now that Lulu decided to take the time to put them on there.  Therefore, I would like to ask for ideas for art and design for the new covers.  It's unlikely the covers will be up soon, but hopefully sooner than otherwise.

Thanks for everyone's support!

sneak peek of the Founders Part 1 bookcover

xenithar Posted by xenithar at 05:51 PM on May 11, 2009 Comments comments (4)

I have completed the front part of the cover for Part 1 of Founders and have provided a picture of it in this blog:

I decided I would put the title of Part 1 (Libera) inside of the book rather than on the cover for the sake of the cover design and art.  Otherwise it may have started to look too cluttered XD (and the fact that I forgot to design the words for the parts until after the other ones were scanned onto the computer and I grew a bit lazy...).

The book cover for part 2 will probably have a similar design and art style, and will most likely feature a Molouk instead of a Unia'a on it.

Progress on Part 2 is going well and flowing smoothly.  Several quests are under way for the characters, from a great seaside city of white granite to wild plains watched over by talking dragons.

Speaking of spoilers...

Founders takes place during the first E'lsra between the Molouks and Unia'a (starting about 8000 years before the Ascension).  The Hakaan assisted the koran (Unia'a king) as well, but they were hired on pay, and are not fully recognized under the rights and protections granted by the E'lsra in the following E'lsras.

Hope you have enjoyed this episode of Xenithar's Musings.
